Eclipse Phase 2e Kickstarter! Posted Sat, 04/29/2017 - 11:07

Exciting news for the EP community — the long discussed second edition rule book is in production, and the kickstarter to push it over the finish line is now live!

EP2 promises a pile of updates and tweaks to simplify some of EP's tangliest mechanics, and we'll be working to update Eldrich Host to keep pace with the changes. Our current plan is to keep the EP1 rules active as 1ed.eldrich.host when the new version is ready, so you'll still have complete tools for both editions (as well as all your campaign and homebrew resources) available.

Exploiting the chaos of the Fall, a group of stations and habitats were seized in a military coup and the Jovian Republic was born. Combining terrestrial South American dictatorship with U.S. American political lobbyism, this regime quickly brought the entire Jovian military-industrial complex under its control.

Progress is one of the largest Cole bubbles in the Solar System. With 8.5 million residents, it is second in population only to Extropia in the belt. Progress was created when Fa Jing evicted all of the former residents from the Martian satellite of Deimos, excavated the inside of the moonlet, and used a massive solar array to convert it into a bubbleworld. From an engineering standpoint, Progress is a wonder. It was the first successful use of new methods to create a Cole habitat after several previous attempts to create bubbleworlds resulted in the asteroid or moonlet breaking apart.

The stockholm virus is a variant of the xenomorph virus (p. 368, EP) that transforms the mind of the victim before it transforms their body. Stockholm characters view xenomorphs as beautiful and perfect beings and wish to aspire to become them. They become willing allies of xenomorph exsurgents, aiding and concealing them as long as possible. Other exsurgents will not kill stockholm-infected characters but they will ignore or abuse them. Groups of stockholm-infected exsurgents sometimes form cults that seek to create as many xenomorphs as possible.
