Eclipse Phase 2e Kickstarter! Posted Sat, 04/29/2017 - 11:07

Exciting news for the EP community — the long discussed second edition rule book is in production, and the kickstarter to push it over the finish line is now live!

EP2 promises a pile of updates and tweaks to simplify some of EP's tangliest mechanics, and we'll be working to update Eldrich Host to keep pace with the changes. Our current plan is to keep the EP1 rules active as 1ed.eldrich.host when the new version is ready, so you'll still have complete tools for both editions (as well as all your campaign and homebrew resources) available.

Faction Type

The Barsoomians (taking their name from some old Earth pulp adventure novels) are a broad movement comprised of the Martian underclass. Harboring a growing resentment over the hypercorp domination of Mars, Barsoomians advocate for a more egalitarian social structure. Heavily in uenced by autonomist currents, the Barsoomians demand local control of terraforming projects, an end to the widespread practiced of indentured servitude, and control of the Martian Gate.

Location Type

With its chaotic, virtually unpredictable rotation, Hyperion is a dangerous place to land ships. It remains uninhabited.

The Moabite strain functions exactly like the haunting virus (p. 366, EP), except that the character of the hallucinations and altered mental states experienced by the victims is explicitly religious. The infected are visited by angelic messengers inciting them to action, perceive non-believers as twisted hobgoblins and enemies as demons, and generally experience the world around them as being full of portents from God. Far from being typical cult charlatans, infected characters are imparted with genuine belief by the virus, making them particularly dangerous.
