Eclipse Phase 2e Kickstarter! Posted Sat, 04/29/2017 - 11:07

Exciting news for the EP community — the long discussed second edition rule book is in production, and the kickstarter to push it over the finish line is now live!

EP2 promises a pile of updates and tweaks to simplify some of EP's tangliest mechanics, and we'll be working to update Eldrich Host to keep pace with the changes. Our current plan is to keep the EP1 rules active as 1ed.eldrich.host when the new version is ready, so you'll still have complete tools for both editions (as well as all your campaign and homebrew resources) available.

Skinthetic is also a lead designer of morphs, but with a much sleazier reputation and not just because of their anarcho-capitalist roots. Specializing in extensive and often radical biomodifications, the hypercorp pushes the envelope in exotic pod and biomorph designs under the mantle of morphological freedom. Bioconservatives have condemned the corporation’s business practices and ethics and have even leveled accusations that Skinthetic is experimenting with xenogenetic materials acquired from the Factors.

Location Type

Larger in size than Luna, but darkly colored and not as heavily cratered, Ganymede and Callisto are very similar worlds. Neither is as dense (nor has as much gravity), as their mantles consist of more ice than iron rock. Both possess abundant volatiles and water (albeit frozen), making them ideal candidates for habitation. Ganymede, with its differentiated surface of rocky and icy terrain, has an iron core and thus a faint magnetic eld. Callisto, the smaller of the two, is composed mostly of icy silicate clays.

The chrynalus strain follows the common exsurgent pathology of digital intrusion, fabber subversion, and nanoplague production. It’s packaged with an aural basilisk hack to incapacitate transhumans until they are completely infected by the nanoplague. Biological and synthetic victims alike host chrysacid parasites: polyps of crustacean-like limbs that burst from the skin/shell and puppet the exsurgent like a marionette.
