Eclipse Phase 2e Kickstarter! Posted Sat, 04/29/2017 - 11:07

Exciting news for the EP community — the long discussed second edition rule book is in production, and the kickstarter to push it over the finish line is now live!

EP2 promises a pile of updates and tweaks to simplify some of EP's tangliest mechanics, and we'll be working to update Eldrich Host to keep pace with the changes. Our current plan is to keep the EP1 rules active as 1ed.eldrich.host when the new version is ready, so you'll still have complete tools for both editions (as well as all your campaign and homebrew resources) available.

The Reclaimers pursue one ultimate goal—the reclamation of Earth as transhumanity’s primary habitat. In addition to calling for the quarantine of Earth to be lifted, they engage in scientific research and running virtual simulations on how to best cleanse and reclaim their contaminated and polluted planet. Despite the interdiction to enter Earth’s atmosphere, the reclaimers are suspected of sponsoring perilous and high-risk ventures onto the planet’s surface to gather scientific data or even to establish terraforming colonies.

Uranus’s two largest moons are sparsely populated, with only about 10,000 transhumans living on each body. Most stations are mixed dome and beehive settlements and range from hypercorp communications and research outposts to autonomist freeholds. The pair are more chemically complex than most moons in the outer system, consisting of about 30% rock, 20% methane and similar carbonaceous ices, and 50% water. Titania is home to a spectacular canyon that rivals the Martian Valles Marineris.

The chrynalus strain follows the common exsurgent pathology of digital intrusion, fabber subversion, and nanoplague production. It’s packaged with an aural basilisk hack to incapacitate transhumans until they are completely infected by the nanoplague. Biological and synthetic victims alike host chrysacid parasites: polyps of crustacean-like limbs that burst from the skin/shell and puppet the exsurgent like a marionette.
